You know the song 12 Days of Christmas? Well, I didn’t know other cumulative songs other than that one! So I went on Wikipedia and discovered two Irish cumulative songs and turns out Yiddish folk music contains lots of cumulative songs.
So doing this for the sake of Esther 2:13 – “Then thus came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king’s house.”
So the song starts off like this:
The time has come
To spend a night with the king
Choose wise__ly
The artifacts you wish to bring
and ends like this (maybe Esther sings this)
My night with the king
This I shall bring
Isn’t much, but from my heart
comes this offering
So in between, there are lots of items, sung in a cumulative song manner. However, instead of adding 1 item at a time, melodically-wise, it’s better to add 3 items at a time. So right now I am trying to decide how many items there needs to be in total, but here are some of the items so far, in the notebook.
Golden | Earrings |

So that’s it for now and can’t wait to finish this song which will be really fun to sing!
